In Australia today, 2007, white shepherds are known as white Swiss shepherds, white German shepherds, Berger Blanc Suisse, white shepherd.
This gives the misconception these are all separate breeds. The majority of Australian dogs are not. All one breed genetically, known by many names.
These names do represent pedigree breed names registered in different countries around the world.
There is much good work being done by other Australian white shepherd organisations but United White Shepherds of Australia was formed to unite all white shepherds — no matter what name you call them.
After all, they all come from the same breeding stock unless they are from imported bloodlines.
UWSSA is a group of friends offering white shepherd lovers, in Australia and internationally, an alternative place to find information about white shepherds
